Flights to Uganda

Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa. It is bordered to the east by Kenya, to the north by South Sudan, to the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to the southwest by Rwanda, and to the south by Tanzania.

The biggest route Entebbe handles is the Entebbe – Nairobi route and today it is being served by three airlines with Kenya Airways dominating the route.

Flights running from Entebbe to within Europe are majorly served frequent flights via Nairobia to London, Amsterdam and Brussels. It is via these major hubs that flights from Entebbe can link with European and other European countries. British Airlines continuously offers five flights in a week between Entebbe and London Heathrow. The royal Dutch airlines KLM operates four flights in a week connecting Entebbe and Amsterdam and thereafter links to numerous Scandinavian countries like Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Sabena’s successor Brussels Airline serves four flights weekly connecting Entebbe and Brussels and linking to other parts of Europe.

The Middle East and Dubai are prime regions for Uganda’s trading sector and are unfailingly served by Fly Emirates running daily flights from Entebbe into Dubai and then links to other international cities. Turkish Airline is the newest entrant in the airline business and is now running three flights from Entebbe to Istanbul which links to other major cities in Europe and the Middle East.

Uganda is able to connect to other cities which don’t have a direct air link with Entebbe through a third city. Most of such cities are served by Ethiopian Airlines, South Africa Airways, Rwanda Air and Kenya Airways. These are the leading African Aviation companies that are strongly built a firm continental network. Flights connecting from America’s large cities connect to Entebbe through the hubs of the key airlines. With South African Airline you can fly to Entebbe from Washington, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and New York through Johannesburg, while Egypt Air connect Montreal & New York through Cairo; Fly Emirate from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and Toronto through Dubai to Entebbe. KLM or Air France connects Vancouver, Montreal, Seattle, Detroit, Washington, Memphis, Houston, , Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Chicago, San Fran Francisco, Toronto, Minneapolis and Ottawa through Amsterdam to Entebbe.

There are numerous alternatives for flights connecting the Far East with Entebbe. Kenya Airways connects Mumbai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Bangkok through Nairobi to Entebbe.  South African Airways also connects Australia to Entebbe with flights coming from Sydney to Perth through Johannesburg.

For those who do not mind about missing the road scenery, the using air transport can fill that gap. This is done by not only the very distant tourists in continents like Europe, Australia but also with tourists in the African continent because many flights do come to Uganda.
